A chartered engineer and physicist, he is also a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America and Fellow of the Audio Engineering Society, Mapp was named the 2009 NSCA University Educator of the Year and also received the IEC 1906 award in recognition for his work on intelligibility standards and research.
