Upcoming Webinar: ‘How The American Rescue Plan Act Will Affect Commercial AV Professionals’

American Rescue Plan webinar

Sound & Communications is proud to announce an informative webinar, “How The American Rescue Plan Act Will Affect Commercial AV Professionals,” which took place on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at 1pm EDT. Presented by Sound & Communications, the webinar is sponsored by Shure.

With the American Rescue Plan Act becoming law on March 11, the US economy will see $1.9 trillion in ongoing investments. A significant portion of those dollars will flow to venue vertical markets that are important to design/install professionals’ and technology managers’ interests, including education, hospitality and entertainment projects.

The webinar gave commercial AV professionals the information they need to help their businesses benefit from the American Rescue Plan Act and its economic investments. It also provided broader macroeconomic context so members of the AV industry have a better sense of when we can expect a return to normalcy with respect to economic growth, unemployment, interest rates and other metrics.

Panelists included the following:

  • Peter Hansen, Economic Analyst for AVIXA, who is an expert in how the commercial AV sector interacts with the wider economy. He has worked for the Federal Reserve Board.
  • Troy Jensen, Senior Manager, Global Accounts for Shure, who has been involved in the audiovisual industry for more than 30 years. His expertise includes architectural acoustics, audio/video system design and project/business management.
  • Meredith L. Boylan, who is a Partner at Venable LLP, and who represents corporate and individual financial services clients in federal and state regulatory agency investigations and related litigation.
  • Moderator Dan Ferrisi, Editor of Sound & Communications, who guided the conversation.

The webinar was free to participate in (with registration), and it lasted about one hour. Watch it here.
