InfoComm International is experiencing significant membership growth in Europe: about 17% year over year. To support the growing AV market in that region, the organization has invested heavily in its European presence over the last 10 years, with offices in London and Munich, and a team dedicated to the region. InfoComm is focused on growing the number of translated resources, supporting industry events and building strategic partnerships in order to extend its reach in Europe.
Toward that end, InfoComm has partnered with AV distributor TD Maverick to award 40 European AV companies with one-year memberships to give those companies access to education, training, certification, industry standards, events and more. For more information, click here.
In addition, during ISE in Amsterdam, the organization made a number of announcements related to international training:
- InfoComm plans to partner with AV product distributor COMM-TEC to increase the number of trained and tested AV professionals throughout German-speaking Europe. Through this partnership, COMM-TEC will incorporate InfoComm training courses into its COMM-TEC Academy, including prep courses for the InfoComm-Recognized AV Technologist Test (RAVT). Upon completion of the program, students will have the opportunity to take the RAVT, which will be administered by InfoComm at COMM-TEC headquarters in Uhingen, Germany. - InfoComm is partnering with AV and IT distributor Leteng AS to offer professional AV training in Norway. Leteng AS has developed a comprehensive program of commercial-AV training courses, from basic essentials to advanced skills. The program will incorporate InfoComm’s “Essentials of AV” curriculum, a prep course for the Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) exam and testing for the Recognized AV Technologist (RAVT) certificate. All training courses and tests will be offered in Norwegian. Leteng AS has scheduled 23 training courses in 2016 throughout Norway. For more information, click here.
- InfoComm also announced plans to partner with LINDY to develop four educational webinars in 2016 in four languages: German, Italian, French and English. The first webinar will kick off in April on the topic of distributing AV signals across various solutions. Areas of focus will include the application of modular matrix systems, videowalls, splitter and switching solutions, and more. The second webinar, about solutions for extending AV signals, is scheduled for July, with two more planned for September and December. For more information, click here.
