Let’s begin with a retro perspective. Back in your author’s public school days in Britton SD, my class’ distance-learning experience was a walk downstairs to the gym to view 16mm educational films. Since those days BD (Before Digital), AV has dramatically changed. What you’ll be reading about here relates to current AV technology in education.

Standardized Systems
The new AV install at Pepperdine University’s graduate campus at Irvine CA is characterized by standardized systems that can be managed easily over a network. In addition, integrator ClearTech Media (CTM) (, Pasadena, provided the capability of extending the campus’ academic resources via distance learning/videoconferencing. You’ll see comments from the integrator and the client here.
